It’s the largest theater in Italy and among the largest in Europe, is also famous for the perfect acoustics, was begun in 1875 by Giovan Battista Filippo Basile, and finished by his son Ernesto who succeeded his death in 1891. Surrounded by an iron railing, has a 'grand staircase flanked by two bronze lions, representing the lyric, and tragedy, at the end of the stairway entrance preceded by 6 columns of tufa closed by a gable-style classic. Closes the theater with a copper dome moved.
