Teatro Politeama

Designed by the architect Giuseppe Damiani Almeyda who realized in 1875. Was founded to house the works of various kinds, and only in 1882 is dedicated to Garibaldi from which it takes its name. It is inspired by the style amphitheatres of ancient Rome, with a circular shape and the entrance surmounted by a semicircular arch with Doric columns and Ionic on the two floors. Ends surmounted by six bronze horses of which four representatives of the chariot of Apollo by the sculptor Mario Rutelli and the remaining work of the sculptor Benedetto Civiletti. All around a great iron gate.
